Airport Transfers from Godalming, Chiddingfold and across Surrey

Every London airport, plus the south coast cruise ports

Distances below are measured from the Godalming/Chiddingfold area. Times are approximate and depend entirely on traffic — the M25 in particular can add half an hour without warning.

• Heathrow — about 27 miles, typically 45–60 minutes. Usually A3 north to the M25 at Junction 10 (Wisley), then round to J15 and the M4 for Terminals 2 and 3, or J14 for Terminals 4 and 5. More on our Heathrow transfers.
• Gatwick — about 28 miles, typically 50–70 minutes. Cross-country on the A281 towards Horsham, then the A264 and M23. More on our Gatwick transfers.
• Luton — about 60 miles, typically 1 hr 20 – 1 hr 45. A3 to the M25, clockwise to J21, then the M1 north to Junction 10.
• Stansted — about 70 miles, typically 1 hr 40 – 2 hrs. The long way round the M25 to J27, then the M11 north to Junction 8.
• London City — about 43 miles, typically 1 hr 20 – 1 hr 45. Either straight up the A3 and through town, or M25 and the Dartford Crossing depending on the hour.
• Southampton cruise terminals — about 50 miles, usually a little over the hour via the A31 and M3/M27.
• Portsmouth International Port — about 40 miles, usually 50–70 minutes straight down the A3 through the Hindhead tunnel.

Tell us the terminal, not just the airport

Heathrow has four working terminals — T2 (the Queen's Terminal), T3, T4 and T5. Terminal 1 closed years ago and no longer exists. They're spread across the airport and approached from different junctions, so knowing which one you need before we set off saves a genuinely annoying loop round the perimeter road.

Gatwick has North and South Terminals, separated by the runway and linked by a free shuttle. Airlines do move between them — easyJet consolidated into North in 2026, for instance — so please check your boarding pass rather than going on what was true last time you flew. If you're not sure, tell us the airline and flight number when you book and we'll work it out with you.

How early should you leave?

This is guidance, not a promise — you know your own flight and check-in better than we do. As a rough starting point, most people work back from the airport using the airline's advice (commonly around 2 hours before a short-haul departure and 3 hours for long-haul), then add the drive time above, then add a buffer.

Things worth padding for:

• Weekday mornings, roughly 6.30–9.30am. The A3 northbound and the M25 both bite. We'd add 30–45 minutes for a Heathrow run in that window.
• Friday afternoons heading anywhere near the M25.
• Bank holidays and half-term Saturdays to Gatwick.
• Roadworks and closures — the A3 and M25 both get overnight closures with diversions that add real time.

Ring us and we'll talk through a sensible pickup time for your specific flight. We'd always rather you sat in departures with a coffee than watched the clock in traffic.

Luggage and the car

The car is a red Toyota Corolla saloon with a large boot — it takes a family's worth of hold luggage without anyone travelling with a case on their lap. Golf clubs, a pushchair, a cello, three weeks of cruise luggage: tell us what's coming when you book and we'll be straight with you about whether it fits. If it genuinely doesn't, we'd rather say so up front than turn up and play Tetris on your driveway at 5am.

Early starts, late landings and the run home

Plenty of Surrey airport work happens at hours when nothing else is moving. We cover it: 3am departures from Chiddingfold, 1am landings at Gatwick, Sunday nights, Christmas morning. Twenty-four hours, every day.

For return journeys, give us your flight number and landing time and we'll agree a pickup arrangement with you when you book — including where to meet and what happens if you're delayed. It's worth booking the return at the same time as the outbound, especially for early-morning arrivals.

A fixed fare, agreed before you travel

We don't publish price lists, because a Godalming–Heathrow run at 5am and a Chiddingfold–Stansted run on a bank holiday aren't the same job. What we do instead is simpler: you call, you tell us where from, where to, when and how many of you, and we agree a fixed fare there and then. That's the price. It doesn't move because the M25 was slow.
